Who is Rob Fleischer?

I am Rob Fleischer and I am nigh invulnerable . . . no, wait, that's not me, that's the Tick! But I know the Tick, so indirectly, I guess, I am nigh invulnerable! Awesome! Little Wooden Boy is one of the greatest superheroes ever. Now, besides the fact that I am invincible, I can also ramble (some say I have the gift of gab. . .well, no one actually says that, but, I think it is pretty cool to say anyway). . . so here goes: I am originally from Rhode Island. I grew up there (in East Greenwich, RI to be exact). RI is OK, but the northwest is calling me. I will be moving there when I graduate. Speaking of graduating, I am very studious. I am a senior at Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. I am graduating very soon, May 19th to be exact, with a degree in Marketing and a minor in International Business.
Ithaca is a very rainy town (or city, as they like to call it out here) . . . I don't think I have seen three consecutive days of sun in four years. However, Ithaca does have some bright spots (not the sun) . . . it has Ithaca College (wahoo, my school!) and Cornell (not my school, but I have gotten lost there)! Ithaca also has some cool little spots, like the Commons, Collegetown, and Arby's (by far the best food in these here parts). I am a huge fast food guy and I am strictly carnivorous, not by choice, but, because I don't like fruits and vegetables (except for pickles . . . yum . . ., crinkle cut carrots, the ends of cucumbers without the seeds, black olives, and fruit roll-ups). Arby's sauce is the greatest condiment in the world. That stuff is great! Pickles may also be considered a condiment. However, I consider them more of just a basic food group, the necessities. I love pickles! I started the Pickle Preservation Society here at Ithaca College this year in an effort to unite all pickle lovers in a fun and light-hearted atmosphere! We at the P.P.S. have an awesome time. We did a ton of stuff. Everyone loves pickles; 9 out of 10 shoppers leave the supermarket with pickles and the average North American consumes an average of 9 pounds of pickles a year....or somewhere around there.
Now, as for school, I may not be the smartest, but I know my stuff! My stuff being the things that I feel are most important. For example, I learned HTML because this is the future. I know a great deal about marketing...I've read stuff from Levitt, Levy, and Kotler - all marketing heroes!! I have an innate knowledge of marketing - I can't explain, weird really. I also managed to get through two classes of Spanish this year! Es muy dificil, pero yo soy muy inteligente. That was really great because I hadn't taken Spanish in about 4 years. I love learning new things, especially hands-on things. I spent last Spring in London, England. That was awesome. I went to a billion shows! (not really, only about 40, but that was pretty good having been there only 3 1/2 months).
I love music and going to shows. I saw Crazy Gods of Endless Noise while I was there and they were one of the best shows I have ever seen. I also saw Weezer (2x), Shootyz Groove (2x), Fat (2x), Downset, Offspring, Hole (I really dislike them), Fugazi, Dave Matthews Band, Dog Eat Dog, and a bunch of others. My favorite groups are Red Hot Chili Peppers (I've liked them since October 11, 1986....that was a great day for me), John Mellencamp, The Who, Mighty BossTones, and pretty much all ska - especially Skankin' Pickle, Scofflaws. We (the P.P.S.) just brought up the Janitors Against Apartheid from CA to play out here and they were awesome, as is everything that comes off Dill Records....so if you ever get to see Janitors or any Dill bands, go!!
What else? I love video games! They provide me with endless fun! I always have fun - it is my main objective in life and is the most important thing for me. If I am having fun, then I am happy, and I am pretty happy. Anyway, about video games, that is what I want to do. I know a lot about them and I want to be involved with them. What would my life be like without them? I don't really know, I am sure though that it wouldn't be the same. Granted I could find something else that would be cool, but I can't envision what that would be. Games like Dark Forces and Ascendancy are really awesome. Then there are the great arcade games like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Ridge Racer. Plus the home system games including Super Metroid, Twisted Metal, Sonic, and of course, Mortal Kombat! All these games rule, and so do the billion others that I didn't mention. I suppose that is all I should say about video games...otherwise I will begin to sound too repetitive and we don't want that.
What else do I have to say about me? Well, I am completely substance free. That is a good thing, no drugs and no caffeine. That keeps me healthy, I guess. In high school I was very involved in Youth to Youth, a great program. I met a ton of awesome people from all over. Unfortunatly, there's not anything like Y2Y in college. But college does have Ultimate [Frisbee], an awesome sport, so much running. Our team, Naw Shus, is the best (not really), but, we have a lot of fun. Alright, I think that is about all I have to say...that is me, to summarize, once again, all I want to do is be happy and have fun. That is my only objective. Pretty cool, and simple. Oh, yea, I love to mountain bike. Ithaca is a good place to bike. I also like comic books (especially Spawn, Shadowhawk, Prime, Vortex, and the Marvel 2099 series). Cartoons are great too. They are beginning to be like they were when I was younger. With shows like Tick, Freakazoid, ReBoot, and Life with Louie, Saturday mornings are worth waking up early on.
Alrighty then, I am done rambling. If you read all this, thanks...if you want to see what I've done, my experiences, talents, etc. all summarized, please take a look at my resume. If you want more information about me, just e-mail me. I will answer anything....thanks again, adios.
